Silencio

Detect & Avoid Radar

Current Phase: In Development

Silencio unlocks the potential for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLoS) drone operations by adding an extra layer of safety against mid-air collisions. With its low-SWaP design and affordability, drones can be widely adopted in commercial operations such as cargo delivery, agriculture, and surveillance.

News: After a series of prestigious grant awards Silencio kick-started Orbion Technologies and migrated its operations.

Silencio originated as an R&D initiative focused on radar detection and countermeasure technologies. Following successful proof-of-concept validation, the project secured an MIT R&D Stimulus Grant, enabling critical development phases in signal processing and detection algorithms. Subsequent recognition through the Metropolitan Regio Eindhoven R&D Grant supported ground-based system adaptation and regional deployment infrastructure.

With demonstrated technical viability and established market positioning, Silencio completed its migration to Orbion Technologies B.V. in late 2025. The newly constituted entity was accepted into IMEC’s istart accelerator program—currently ranked as the world’s leading university-linked technology accelerator—positioning Orbion for systematic scale-up within Europe’s premier deep-tech ecosystem.
